I added a couple bags of Carib sea sand in the Refugium and there is now a film I the whole tank, sump, skimmer, return, etc.

Will this crap go away or will I have to manually remove/disturb it to get it gone? If its no big deal ill just leave it.....****es me off.

Film of what? Silt from the sand? If so just blow it off and it will settle somewhere else.

You put a large load on the tanks bio load and stressed it all out. You may actually have started a mini cycle. Have you tested the water?

How is a bag of sand adding to the bioload? I can see how adding it would decrease the amount of surface area in the tank with proper bacteria and throw it off a bit, but come on lol.

Carib. sea sand is a LS and you dont know hoe live it is. Or how much dieoff is in there. How long did it sit on the shelf. Well you added it and then had trouble , make me think it wasnt so live.

There should have been a little pouch of liquid additive in there, it helped mine out.
