Hello All,

I was wondering what you all are feeding your nems? Are you concerned with phosphates at all? I was feeding mine silversides and found that they have some of the highest phosphate content out there. Does anybody know of any food suitable for a nem that would be low in phosphates? TIA

Jumbo Krill here. I wouldn't suggest it's low on phosphates, though.

I've heard a few horror stories about silversides. Since they aren't intended for human consumption, they aren't subject to the same standards of handling as human grade foods and I have read several posts about suspected bad silversides killing a nem.

A better choice would be to hit up the seafood section at your local grocer. I get fresh-frozen shrimp and chop them into small pieces on a cold cutting board so that they don't freeze together when I put them in the freezer.
