I would like to say "HI" to everyone first of all . I have 5 years of experience with freshwater aquariums and still having a 200lt. tank. I have another tank ( 60lt. ) that recently i have decided to change it to saltwater.

Today i got 55lt of RO from my local Aquarium shop and about 2 kg. of " Red Sea Coral Pro Salt". I mixed them up and fill the aquarium. Only a little interior filter is working right now in the tank. Tomorrow i am going to get " Dazs Aragonite Sand" and i will use it.

Here is my question. Could i put the sand while the water is still in the tank or should i empty the tank to put the sand???

Also, any other suggestions are wellcome.

Thanks for advance :)

Turn off your water circulation to avoid any undue stirring up of the sand... Then, just dump it in...
You may want to try taking the whole bag to the bottom and cut it open there, and then just slide the bag out. That works well if it's live sand. If its dry sand, just rinse it really well and then just scoop it in the water.

No need to take the water out.

Good luck with things!
