I set up a 10 gallon on my desk about a month ago, I let the tank cycle with about 15lbs of rock in the tank, and a couple pounds in the hob filter. I added a cuc from reefcleaners.org and everything looks good. I added a couple corals to see how the lighting on my tank would be and so far it appears the sps and zoas are both doing fine. Although the SPS isn't nearly the same color that it was in the lfs. But I'm setting this tank up for a shrimp/goby pair. I'm planning on a randall's pistol shrimp and a yasha hase goby which I requested through a lfs. So, In the mean time I think I need help with aquascaping ideas and with deciding if I can have a few more living things in the tank. I wouldn't mind having one or two more free swimming fish and maybe a cleaner shrimp, but I'm not sure about either the bioload or how compatible the shrimp would be.

Its bioload and territory. Gotta have a territory for most fish that a ten all wont allow. Those of us with nanos can only have a few select fish. Make each choice count.

Right. I'm more concerned with the bioload since the goby and pistol shouldn't take up very much space in the tank, so I was considering a dartfish or maybe a small blenny or something that'll move about the tank a bit more. As for shrimp I might try adding a cleaner shrimp and hope that the pistol shrimp leaves him alone. But if people here say that the 10 gallon isn't enough for another fish I'll trust you guys.

The pistol shrimp I put in my tank a few weeks ago killed my cleaner shrimp within 4 days of it being in there. Lessons learned I guess. I like cleaner shrimp a lot better so the pistol is gone and his hi fin goby buddy is just going to have to get along with out him.

Shoot. That's not the answer I was hoping for. :lmao: But I'd rather not put anything in my tank to die, so thanks for the post. Fortunately I can always get a cleaner shrimp or two for my other tank.
