Not in college but I know the feeling, would love that fish but can't justify spending that much on a fish

I knew they were pricey, but not that pricey. Cool fish, but not for 3k.

As far as rare and expensive fish go, this is one of the few that IMO is worth it. Just gorgeous!

I'm not going to buy it, but do they really need to be in 64° to 75° water?

Just curious

I've kept mine at 75.5-77.5 over the last year and they've been fine.

I was under the impression the temperature thing was two fold. One: it's especially important for newly imported individuals, especially larger specimens, and logically, two: would simply be in regards to life span, I would think. Like Catalina gobies...

This is all just me thinking out loud, BTW :D

Actually, when mine was a juvi's and when I first received it, I kept my tank temp 73-75. I slowly raised the temp over a few months to its current temp.

What's the lifespan on one of these guys?

I had a conversation with Koji regarding this and he advised they can be kept at a wide range of temperatures, including up to 78ish.

Just not enough data in the US to understand their lifespan in aquaria. I kept mine at 73.5 and seemed to do fine.

SPS and other fish seem to do fine at this temperature so unless you have trouble cooling your tank, I don't see a need to go beyond 74F.
