Can I keep certain sps under 4 t5 s? Tank depth is 24in it's a 37 gallon high.

If it's a quality fixture with quality bulbs, yes. Before I went to a 6x54w I was able to grow SPS under my 4x54w Tek with ATI bulbs.

I grew green birds nest and monti caps under 4x ati bulbs about 8 inches from the fixture.

I grow pretty much everything under my ati 6 bulb t-5 fixture. And I only run 4 bulbs. 2 blue plus, a purple plus, and a ge

That doesn't sound very promising, but it's worth a try. Start with some easy lower light SPS frags like a birdsnest or a monti cap and place it in the upper half of the tank and see what happens. If it grows, try something with slightly higher light requirements. Rinse and repeat.

GE = General Electric

They make a bulb called the Starcoat that comes in a 6500k spectrum. http://www.reefgeek.com/lighting/t5-fluorescent/bulbs/ge/54w-6500k-daylight-t5-ho-fluorescent-ge0005.html We commonly refer to it as the GE 6500k. And Firefish's combination is actually my favorite bulb combination, but it is a very stark white, not popular with most, so keep that in mind.

then later save up for a decend LEDs

i don't think they sell GE products in HK. what u recommend to replace with?
can i choose anything that can hit around 6500k?

If you can find a Giesemann Midday Sun that should be roughly the same.

The sps will be about 6 inches below the surfous on some Rock placed right in the middle

I really hope this works I'd like to out grow it then move the grow to a 20 long and use the thirty inch to grow frags and upgrade to LEDs !!!
