I think I am having silica issues with my current RO/DI setup. I was looking into purchasing an add on and a silica trap DI.

Should I run the regular DI first then into the silica trap or would the silica be fine on its own at the end with no add on

You could try the silica trap on its own. A more sure bet would be the silica trap followed by a mixed bed cartridge.

Wouldn't it make more sense to run mixed bed to "rough" the water then the silica to finish it off? I am thinking this way the silica trap would last longer as it is more expensive than the refillable mixed bed resin

You'll get your best treatment from a mixed bed - so let the silica cart take care of the silica and the mixed bed be the last thing it sees before your tank.

Is the silica trap good on its own since it is a multilayer chamber?

Yes sir.

Do you guys have dual chamber add on kits? I was thinking of using a Max cap after the RO then going into a silica trap then finishing off with a mixed bed. or would that be overkill

Sure - look on this page: http://www.buckeyefieldsupply.com/showproducts.asp?Category=39&Sub=127

We can build whatever you'd like.

Some would say a single mixed bed cart is sufficient, but if you have specific issues you're trying to treat, then a custom DI configuration can make perfectly good sense.

that one comes with the DI carts. I was wondering if there was anything just the housings? also do you guys carry anything that is the same as what a MaxCap is?

Yes, Yes, Yes.

Would be best if you called in and we can discuss/nail down specifically what you want. We make all our own systems, so we can customize /make whatever you'd like.

Please give us a call.
