Tank up grade

I just up grades to a 150 48x23x30. I have 3 AI vega colors, I am wondering if I should use all three or just two?

All 3 seeing as you are going to have to run them closer to the water to get the penetration down to 30 inches.

I would agree with Nikon, the AI's have a hard time pushing down past the 24" mark. So having them closer to the water line is going to help but then that will limit the spread. I would run all three over the tank at maybe 6" and see how it looks. It might be to much, but would be a good starting point I think.

Am I going to regret buying LED's? New tank has T5HO and MH on it now, should I use those and sell off the Vegas?

Trying to grow mostly SPS. I like the versatility of LED but sounds like people don't like the growth rate with LED.

i think that the leds are good enough that they can do well for our reef tanks but that most would say that the mh are a good bet and have a history to back it up. if you can handle the heat and the electric bill, it might not be a bad idea to use the mh. but seeing as you bought leds already, you might be energy conscious and might wanna try the leds at least for a while to see how you like them.
