Star fish ID

A buddy sent me this pic of his new star fish, he just had no idea what type it is.

It looks like a brittle star to me, but have never seen one this small. Total diameter tentacle tip to tentacle tip is 1cm. What do you guys think?

looks like a small brittle starfish, i have seen some little guys about that size.

After quite a bit of searching it seems like these white ones are mini brittle stars and they don't seem to get much larger than an inch in diameter.
