I was just curious of the average of where everyone was on light hrs. I know this prob depends on what you have in your tank.
I like mine to come on at 1 pm and run till 10:30 pm. I work most of the day and sometimes don't get home till 7, this way I get a few hrs to watch my tank :)

Dimmable LED arrays. 14 hours for blue and 12 for white, 4 hour ramp up/down on each.

I'm about to pull the trigger on LED I was wondering how that ramp would work. I would still set mine up for a later shutoff time though

Radion comes on at 10:30 am ramps up in power to 11:30 and stays constant until 7:30 pm. Then off at 9 when the moon light runs until about 12.

I leave my metal halide on for 8 hr/day. Seeing that everyone is voting 9+, is this bad for halides?

Most of my corals are still new to my tank, and I put them where I wanted them without acclimating(they've come from tanks with MH and LEDs.

I'm running my actinics for 10 hrs total, and the MH come on for 4 hours right now. After a week I'm upping by 30m every week until I'm at about 7 hours.

Do you guys run moonlights? If so how long and how often?

I run my moon lights only when I feel like looking at the tank at night. I do not have mine on a timer.

Ditto for moon lights only when I want to look, otherwise I let the fish sleep in the dark :)

The blues come on at 8AM starting at 10% (limit of the driver), over 4 hours they increase to 80%, from Noon until 6pm they stay at 80% and then start to decrease to 10% over 4 hours and shut off at 10PM. The whites basically do the same thing but an hour later in the morning and an hour earlier at night.

Mainly aesthetic but it's easy to convince yourself that the inhabitants appreciate the sun rise/set.

I run 10 hours total with 2 bulbs on for dawn dusk, and 8 hours with 6 bulbs for the main daylight, using an ATI Sunpower. This has worked really well on my system so I've left it as is from the start.
