I'm tossing around the idea of drilling the back of my Oceanic 180 to get rid of the giant corner overflows.

Go with glass holes or brs and do it yourself. Very easy!

I have a glass hole saw for 1 1/2 inch bulkhead and could help you if need it

Its really easy to do yourself. If not I think Charlie at Aquarium Obsessions does that.

I may take you up on that. I wonder if a single 1.5" drain and 1.5" return would be enough. Right now I have 2 x 3/4" for each. And the sump is a 75 gallon.

Just make sure you're not dealing with tempered glass!!

Just let me know and like shorty said you'll have to insure it is not tempered. I'm not sure on the size but I guess you could do dual 1.5" holes on each one.

Well it is an Oceanic tank and according to their website all of their tanks only have a tempered glass bottom.

just drill the back it will work fine. most all tanks have a tempered bottom but rarely are all the panels tempered except 55 gallons. trust me most of them are tempered!!!!!!

I've read that a lot of newer tanks are being produced with tempered glass, from companies that previously did not use tempered except for the bottoms. I don't know that first-hand though, or remember which companies were mentioned. And if you got that info from their website you are probably good. There are also tests you can do with LCD screens and/or polarized glasses.
