Heya, I'm Paul, from Bendigo (Vic), my current tank info is listed below lol. I am about to redo the whole thing, with newer proper equipment. As much as I'd love a large tank, I'm staying small for now, until I get a better house to wrap a large tank in.

Cheers, Paul.

Wish I was from Australia. It's my dream to go there one day and dive the GBR. You guys must have killer reef tanks over there!

I have blue, pink, green, (and a couple of orange) zoanthids, some star polyps, a purple tip anemone (with clowns of course), several other corals, I will have to try to get pix of each one, and post em up, but I can't do macro photos. Also I keep a ton of horrible algae's (against my will), because I can't seem to get rid of em at the moment..I'm just waiting to do the new build shortly, which will help with the algae issues...

Cheers, Paul.

Nice, are you gunna do a build thread, or post any pics along the way?

Im starting my tank stand this weekend, was going to have a metal stand welded up by my father, but my brother in law is a builder, and has a stack of 4"x2" wood, that I can use for free, as opposed to buying all the metal to make the stand.

Cheers. Paul.

Then you're pretty well considered citizens of our great nation ;-)

Well, all i managed to get done over a very wet weekend, was roughly cut some treated pine that I got for free, and when it dries out in a few days, I'll cut it to proper length for the beginning of my new stand..

Cheers, Paul.

I tend to mix my own salt water most of the time, but I do also purchase natural s/w to use on occasions. For top off I use tap water after mixing it with the product: 'Easy-Life' which is a water conditioner, a strong anti-stress product, a maintenance tonic and a prophylactic all wrapped into one product. It works for me. I don't worry too much about the occasional minor diatom blooms as my conch snail takes care of cleaning it off my sand for me and I just wipe down the glass panes during maintenance. I do have the Aqua Medic RO unit but I found it to be a waste of money and water so I don't use it.

Gee, we must have made quite an impression on you for you to ask if your time down under counts. Us Aussies are quite an accommodating lot, so yes, I guess your time on our island all those years back does count MATE!

I had a very good time there. It was the furthest I have ever been from my home in New York. Until I went to Bora Bora.
I was in Sydney when the opera house was under construction.

Just curious to know how the plan for the new build is coming along?. Have you decided on natural s/w or mixing your own?
