Hi all:

this is my first time keeping a favites, and I noticed that there is some kind of white worm like thing sticking out of the corallites...any clue if this is relatively normal? polyp extension looks normal but there are no feeders or stinger tentacles at night...anyone have any clues?

Vermetid Snail?

possibly...I think I do see some white filaments coming out sometimes...should I attempt to pluck it out or leave it?

If the coral is expanding normally I would just wait and watch for now.

at what point would you recommend removing it? if there was significant tissue regression?

If you notice the tissue looks like it's being stung.

Since I am just guessing it's a Vermetid.

If it is you can take a tiny dab of superglue gel and close the tip. Do not get any one the coral tissue. Some times you can just snap the tube off and sometimes they grow back.
