Does anyone know what size holes are drilled in the overflows of these tanks, most specifically the 250gallon with the dual overflow?

I'm just curious as my new tank has 1 inch drains and 3/4 inch returns and a local guy here said that they should have been drilled bigger... It's a 189 gallon tank...

All holes should be 1 3/4".

Do you mean the drains should be 1 inch and the returns 3/4?

So I shouldn't be worried that my tank has those drains/returns?

My LFS said everything should have been drilled a half inch bigger but I though they were fine...

The 250DD will come with 4 holes drilled to accommodate 1" bulkheads (1" pipe). If you use thin wall 1" pipe for the drains it will help considerably (almost 25% more capacity). The drain capacity is listed at 700gph per overflow box and this seems to be very close. The constraint is not the drain line, but the overflow box. If you cut out every other tooth and cover with gutter guard this will help a lot if you are pushing the limit with your return pump.
I spent hours and hours fiddling with my drains.

My tank is a coast to coast overflow so that shouldn't be a problem...

So, your tank is not a Marineland DD tank, you just want to know the hole drain sizes? The cornerflow overflows for the Marineland series tanks are standard 1" drains and 3/4" returns.

Yeah, that's exactly what I wanted to know...

Thanks.
