My 17g tank is only been up a month, I get cyano on the rocks. I only have two small fish and feed only a pinch a day and only two ATI bulbs. Is cyano part of a new tank syndrome? thanks

It's part of every tank, and we all combat it sooner or later.

I remove mine manually with water changes, limit the amount of food and increased flow works best for me.

scrape and siphon most of it out. try increasing flow in areas it grows more.

Sounds good, I'll keep it in check.

I had it bad and no matter how many waterchanges or siphoning I did it would come back. I used chemi clean and it took it right away. And I kept up on waterchanges and what not and haven't had it since.

I'm not saying just dose right off the bat but of its taking too long and too much work doing water changes with little to no results I'd suggest using it. You will still have to work and find ways to lower nitrates/phosphates but at least while doing it you won't have to look at the ugly maroon carpet

That's an option I don't mind taking but the tank is just a month old, I'll let it settle for a bit.
