Hey all I have a 30 gal reef aquarium with lps, sps and softies, my question revolves around a mistake I made new to the hobby. I introduced hardworking dragon goby to my tank who did his job so well that I lost some pretty specimens. I want to keep my substrate turned up so what is a better option. I have a brittle star cruising the bottom but I'm sure it isn't enough. So any new ideas would be awesome, I have astrea snailsturbo snail, brittle star, cleaner shrimp so far. -Thanks JP

maybe some nassarius snails. They burrow into the sand and come back up like zombies when you feed. They do the job of keeping the sand turned up.

Sea cucumber or maybe a conch. Not sure how much room a conch needs though.

A fighting conch would work in that size tank. Also, tongan nassarius and cerith snails.

My best sand sifter is........me! :) I just take a stick and stir the surface once in a while.

I do that occasionally right before a water change.

I would stay away from the sand sifting star. Try a bunch of nassarius snails, those are great at stirring sand up.
