RO/DI and Water Pressure Regulator Noise

While running my RO/DI system today, I heard a loud humming coming from my water pressure regulator. When I turn the water off to the RO/DI unit the humming noise stops.

I guess my water pressure regulator could be going bad, but I replaced it within the last two years.

Are RO/DI units hard on water pressure regulators?

I'm assuming the pressure regulator in the house? Or on the RO/DI unit?

My whole house hums when my RO/DI is on, and decreases in volume anytime water is used in the house, i.e. toilet flush or the sinks. I didn't know there was a pressure regulator on the house and wouldn't even begin to know how to replace it.

The pressure regulator is on the house water line just after it enters the house.

Yeah, mine does the same thing. I rent though, so it hasn't really alarmed me that much. Be interested in know if the sound is bad.
