Looks like you have watched a few too many episodes of My Cat From Hell!!! LOL

That's a pretty cool cat setup and some cute kittens! My only issue with my cat is that if I leave the doors below the tank open, she will use the underside of the tank as an alternate litter box. My tank (other than 3 viewing surfaces) is totally enclosed from top to bottom with drywall so there is no way for the cat to get ontop of the tank. There are doors to the soffet above the tank and they are several feet up and there no way for her to get on top of the tank. My cat is now 18 or so and I've had tanks for her entire life. At this stage, she has no interest in the tank at all.

I have a large house trained iguana that lives on one of my couches and the cat doesn't even mess with him.

My cats love to stare at my tank day and night, and they paw at it the glass, but they've never tried to get in the water. what kind of fish do you have in there?

and the cool cat setup has totally inspired me. We live in an apartment, too, and they get pretty bored. What fun they could have on that wall! It gives me all sorts of other ideas you could do... Maybe a teeter totter on the wall - would they dig that or would it scare the bejeezus out of them?

I have 2 cats, the older one just enjoys sitting on a chair and just watching the fish. My other cat is the terror of the tank, he watches the fish and will jump at them and attack the glass. When I had PC lighting he love to sleep on top of my light system since it was warm and every now and then we would catch him swatting at the top of the water after a fish. I was always afraid that he was going to knock the whole thing into the water so discouraged the behavior. Now after a move and light upgrade to LED's he just uses the top of the tank as a means of getting from the loft into the kitchen. But neither have ever tried to actually get into the tank.

That iguana is awesome. It just chills on that couch all day? Uses that lamp to bask?

His couch is in front of a window that gets the afternoon sun. He stays there enjoying the So. Cal heat by day. At night, he wiill either sleep on the couch or climb the coat rack and sleep. I've got a heating pad under the couch cover for the colder days. He goes to the bathroom in his own litterbox right next to the couch. He doesn't wonder much at all and pretty much just stays on the couch at the other end of the house. Occasionally he will go on a bit of a walk about late in the afternoon. Especially if it's really hot in here and if I run late feeding him but he always go back to his couch.

His other sleeping spot on the coat rack.

As I mop up the coffee from Demon Kat's dive at the windows---and the birds---
I believe this bath in hot coffee will deter him for at least the rest of the day...

Srsly...they're more likely to watch the tank than bathe in it. The greater danger is their knocking something in, or loose. Secure things well. Museum putty (Ace Hardware) and doublesided foam tape and other strong clips are your friends.

Great kittens! They're marked like the more gentlemanly of our two.

My cat when she was younger would have swam in the tank if she could. She loved the sink and the bath tub. Anywhere there was water, she would try to play with it or in it which is very common for Abyssinians. She has absolutely no fear of water. In her younger days, she would watch the tank intently from the top of the recliner chair but now she's pretty old and lazy and could care less. The dogs keep her somewhat active though. Especially our Great Dane who will chase her from time to time. The cat is still the boss though.

I sure hope so it will be a Rimless stafphire refugium with hanging Razors LED's on that side with seahorses and macro-algae. From your words to Gods ears. My fear is with the hanging Razors LED's wires. :uhoh2:

we have a Russian blue, when he was a kitten up until about 7 years we destroyed countless tanks and would just wait for a fish to jump out and have a snack. but most people with a cat and a tank never had the problems we did.

Mine gets on top of them:

She drinks from the freshwater (despite having a water bowl) and sits in front of the 30g on her cat tree watching. Otherwise she doesn't do much with them.

Oh yeah my Bengal always harass my other fish but when I set up a tank with yellowtail damsels, he learned his lesson. Whenever he peeks inside the tank, the damsels charge at him and scare him running..so funny.
Those are very cute kittens!!

Biggest issue I have ever had with my cats and tanks were them chewing on the cords. Don't ask me why but cords were tasty to them.

The tanks is downstairs here on a concrete floor. Wall is 49 cent apiece peel and stick tiles. My house is basically a garage. :) The downstairs has not had a vehicle in it since I built it in 1999. It's my fishtank, bar, piano room.
