Setup:
150 gal tank with biult in overflow in the center
25 gal custom sump, iwaki 40rxt return, quiet one 4000 for the chiller, about 4 ft high for the return heads. Have filter sock and 2 baffles. 2" stand alone pipe in the overflow, 1 1/4 drain pipes connecting to 2x90* connector (not straight drainage)

I have google it up and read the article but still cant understand or solve my problem. Micro bubble still coming thru the return head.. :headwallblue:

1) its the return pump are my problem?
2) can i connect a gate valve on the drain pipes to slow down the drainage?

Or does anybody have any suggestion?

usually microbubbles from your return are caused by too fast of flow thru your sump. try and slow your return pump a bit, this will slow the flow thru the sump.

Plus one on that. I had the same issue. I installed a valve on the return line, past the pump. I slowed the flow just a little and no more bubbles.
