If anyone is running a razor at 100 percent for over a year can you please chime in on the condition of the LEDs particulary the blues. Anyone had any problems yet?

I dont even think they have been out a solid year, or maybe just. There isnt going to be many as 100% is rediculousley high

Just wondering if the fixture is hung 10" above the water line and also using a plastic splash guard from another light fixture as a cover isn't the intensity needing to be higher to compansate par loss?

For near seven months my 10K razor's settings were A:80 and B:90 green zoas, gsp, keyna, pulsing xenia and blue cloves between top to mid level directly under the fixture have never bleached. Now I have a green lobo off to the side mid level that slowly turned brown I figure this is from lack of light. So I've now changed the spectrum to more blue and modified the intensity to A:75 B:96 hoping this will help. I'm guessing if the A channel is turned down turning up the B channel will make up for loss of intensity from the A channel is this correct plus a little more? Even though I have an 8" fan blowing accross the fixture I'm still worried running the blue channel near 100 percent might shorten the life of the LEDs as compared to earlier Maxspect LED fixtures?

100% intensity is uncomfortable to my eyes.

Then what's going on with my fixture running it at A:75 B:96 does not look overly bright to me is it that my fixture is dimmer then others. I don't have anywhere near the same amount of nuisance algae as when I was running my 192 Watt Power Compacts with new bulbs which is great but still it's curious?

Our eyes cant see how intense the leds really are. Thats why there were so many problems in the beggining with the sols. People saw them as dim and cranked up the intensity and fried their tanks. ( drasticley different optics as well but still )

Run my Radion at full blast, imho we can't do more par than the sun can. My corals are acclimated bottom up over the course of a week or so. A coral will survive or won't, yet to lose a coral. Obviously if I was dealing with something more delicate or expensive I'd be more careful, but my corals LOVE it.

I run preset b on a 20 gal 6 inches above tank. It hits 100% both channels never bleached anything. 6 months been running it. Also run 2 120w razors on 75 gal 10 inches above with same preset no bleaching. Used to run a 6 bulb t5and can say t5s were better. LLEDs can't wrap light around ledges and rocks like t5 or mh can

I'm reading from other sites that the designed LED fixture doesn't output its proper spectrum unless running at or near 100 percent is this true? If so those who are running at 60 percent or less may not be getting the proper results. If its a bleaching issue why not just raise the fixture higher this way the proper spectrum is reached and also achieve that brighter look. Anything below 60 percent seems awful dim to me. I'm noticing more and more razor owners are selling their fixtures possibly from result frustrations.

Yes, they can, just not the way todays fixtures with lenses are made.

Can you elaborate

Compared to a blanket of light from say t5 led is rather closer to a point source, so you get shadowing. Bending light is tricky. Mh got round it using reflectors and multiple bulbs

I slowly got mine to 100% over four months. Everything is fine, colors are great and good growth. One of my razors did break two months ago. The solder on the board that the main power comes in broke.

I still haven't broke over 50% on the whites or blue channel on my razer

The highest setting mine reach is A:70 B:80

I can't imagine running them at 100.

Do you have them hanging if so how high?

I run mine at 100 % and all the corals are fine no bleaching at all.

Maybe about 5"-6" above the surface.

My corals all seem happy as of now.

Cranked up my whites to 85 and my blues to 90.

Been this way for a few weeks now and my corals love it.

I noticed my torch corals aren't stretching anymore.

What I find weird is my corals seem to like the blue acnitic lighting more than the whites.

I ran mine over my frag section of my sump at 100% over 8" of water, no bleaching issues but I only had acros that have been acclimated to high light

I have 2 of the 20 inch 120 watt razors over my SPS dominant 90 gallon tank.

100/100 was too high for mine. Also, mine was in an enclosed canopy and the end "melted" a little (coralvue took care of me and that has been fixed, however). Now, I run my LED's at 90% blue and 50% white and I also have 4 T5's (3 blue plus and 1 purple plus) with the back open and a fan blowing into the canopy to help cool things. The SPS are doing fantastic now.

During my 3-4 program time I hit 100:100 but that's midday sun technically. The rest of my program is much less intense and actually blacks out for the 6-1 programs time. I have the 160 watt

SOunds like nobody would recommend the Maxspect presets as they run 100% for a few hours. I have a little 14 gallon nano and have the Maxspect 16K nano at it's highest level above the tank. I'm going to play around and create some custom settings this weekend. Anyone have a custom they'd like to share?
