View Full Version : Snail ID? or other creature?

Hey everyone,

Well out of the blue this guy has popped up in my tank...i certainly did not put him there. Is it some sort of huge snail? Good? Bad? He can also really strech himself though...

Hard to tell from the pics, but it looks like it could be a nudibranch - in which case it is predatory and will either starve to death or eat something you probably want to keep.

It could also be a chiton - in which case it's a good thing.

Yeah he does look like one...but not exactly the one on that link though cause i dont see any blue lines on this guy, just solid black. I actually added a nudibranch a while ago for my CUC from reefs2go...the one i got from them was real tiny and just looked like a lettuce leaf.

Looks like a nudibranch don't know if it is good or bad as some eat stuff you want gone and others eat stuff that you want to keep, just keep an eye on him.
