Before I bust apart my BRS R/O unit, I thought I'd ask for some advice. I've never changed the .6 micron carbon block before, and today, I found that one of the canisters is really stuck. The filter wrench is flexing, the canister housing is chipping, and something is going give before I get this thing off. Any ideas on how best to get this off without breaking the filter?

I use an oil filter wrench when they get stuck:

Thanks for the tip. I may need to run out and get one unless someone has another idea.

Wow that sounds more stuck than what I have dealt with.
But I have found brute force only snaps the filter wrench. I have always tapped the filter wrench with a rubber mallet. That seems to snap it out being stuck better than just pulling on it. The oil filter wrench is a good idea though
