View Full Version : Isopod, Amphipod or Something else?

I just bought some live rock from Premium aquatics and found this little guy in my sump with some rock rubble I bought from them.

I thought it might be an amphipod, but this is larger than the ones I see in my nano. Could it possibly be the dreaded parasitic isopod?

Pic is a little blurry, but it looks like an Isopod to me.

It's hard to tell, but I'd guess isopod too.

Very hard to see, but my guess due to the skinny, elongated body shape is an Idoteid isopod, although they are somewhat rare in reef aquaria. Here is a good article for you to read:
