This is on a couple of my live rock, I've watched it grow fairly quickly in the few months I've had them. I really love watching all this stuff grow. I'm just curious as to what I'm watching. The place I'm talking about is the top of the rock, all those little "flower buds"

Lol I don't want sponge bob or Patrick in my tank! They always do something stupid and mess stuff up.

I'm still having a hard time seeing what you are talking about. I see what looks like old coral skeletons? Flower buds... do they spread all over or stay in one colony? Are they tentacled or look more like a flower with petals?

Do the polyps ever extend? If so I would say its some sort of LPS. Does it grab food like mysis or pellets when you feed

I was thinking LPS as well. Maybe an alveopora that is still hanging in there.

I'm sorry, I guess I didn't explain it well. I am asking about those things that look like old coral skeletons, however, there were only two or three little buds ( I call them that cause that is kinda what they look like to me) Now there are a lot of them and at first they were almost flat against the rock, now they are taller. I have several rocks with places like this. I enjoy watching the growth, just wondering what I might be watching.

I tried, but I don't have a good camera.

Is some sort of LPS that is sort of hanging on. Do regular water changes and try to spot feed the fleshy parts mysis and Cyclopes and see if you can nurse it back to health. My buddy did that and now has a huge Duncan colony

Back to health? I guess I just assumed, because it started very small and is growing at a steady rate, that it was a young what ever it is :)
Ok spot feeding will happen. Thanks

It might be Bermuda coral...do a web search and see if you agree

It's so hard to tell. I googled hydroids too. I guess I'll continue to enjoy what ever it is. Lol
