I have a elos ns1000 set up and I am having a heck of a time getting it to skim. I have had the tank up for 4 months cycling.

The tank is covered in green algae and I went to turn on the skimmer and no bubbles go up the neck. I have tried to adjust the air in put from full blast to nothing and I can no get it to skim. any thoughts?

That's weird, I was having the opposite problem with mine. It has to be that air tube at the intake that adjusts some how. So it never produced bubbles to skim?

Is it a brand new skimmer? If so it will need some time to break in.

Also is the air tube clogged at all? do you have any air being pulled in?

could it be your pump?

I have had the skimmer for years, it has been plumbed in since I started the tank in March. It ran good for 4 years prior to me taking down my tank.

have taken the hose off and so it is just the intake, lots of air getting in, just no bubble accumulating.

Pump is working well, like I mentioned about the skimmer, had it for years an plumbed for 4 months now.

I have it plumbed externally.

Knowing the pump is working there are 2 other things that effects bubbles the air intake and the venturi or pin wheel make sure it functioning properly and no obstruction. As well as check the pressure of the pump.
