Can someone tell me what kind of coral Melev has in this tank. It is on the left side of his tank & to the right of the left overflow.

It has long tentacles like an anemone & is reddish in color.

That's a bubble tip anemone.

Red bubble tip. Hungry apparently since they are extended and not bubbled up.

How hungry an anemone is does not determine tentacle length. A BTA that is never fed can still have bulbous tips. Where'd you get that information?

So how in the world do you keep one of those things from detaching, moving around, stinging other corals, and/or being sucked by one of the power jets or the overflow?

How easy or difficult is this to do? I just bought a cheapy $6 anemone from Petco & within a week it got sucked by my Seio jet pump.

Same question with the carpet anemones? Do they glue them down (haha)?
