I'm going to be drilling the back of a glass tank and I'm wondering if the Bosch Diamond Drill bits at home depot will be fine:

or this:

Looks like the Bosch one has to be shipped.

Anyone know of one I can buy in a store today?

Im not so sure about those teeth on the Bosch bit. I can see that getting stuck near the end of the drilling process. Why not just use these. Do you really need them today?

They are cheaper. Ive used them and they work just fine. I'm not so crazy about their overflows, but the drill bits work.

I was considering them but would like to pick up one today to drill the tanks if I can.

Thanks.

Drilling glass is really grinding glass, use the right hole saw. Which is better, waiting a few days for the right tool or replacing a tank because you used the wrong tool? The first one listed has a high probability of a bad day for you, the second one doesn't have a clear enough of a picture to tell but generally if it has teeth, it is for cutting, not grinding. The Lowes one may work but why risk it?

+1 for http://www.glass-holes.com/Glass-Hole-Cutters_c7.htm worked great for me and arrived in 3 days. Took all of 5 minutes to drill with some plumbers putty and a trickle of water from my garden hose

I'm interested in how this turned out. Did you end up using a hole saw from a big box store? Did it work well?
