Ok this may be a silly question but....

How do you tell when you have enough flow in a display tank? I am working towards a mixed reef tank. It is a 180 Gal 6' x 2' x 2' .
The return pump is a Reeflo Super Dart Gold. Two 3/4" returns, one on each side.
I have 2 MP 40's , one on each end about 1/3 of the way down.

I am thinking I should have a couple more slightly smaller ones lower down towards the back of the tank so there is movement "under" the rocks?

you wanna make sure no ditrus has a chance to settle but not to much flow that it bothers the corals. so good wide flow pumps placed around the tank work great. for a mixed tank, I would shoot for around 30x for flow, not including the return.
