Got some new corals this week, only paid full price for the millepora, and that was very very dark hunter green at the LFS, got it home and it is the brightest SPS I have aside from my yellow tort, so I was happy about that. Got a brown piece under their lights, did a long dip that was stronger than they suggest, and when I was done with the dip, I found an acro crab that was blending in very well, thought he would be dead, but he is still moving around very well, I was happy about that. Got that piece under my lights, and it turned out to be pink with green tips, so I was happy I got that for so cheap. Got an ORA bird of prey frag, and another acro, that I am guessing is a stag of some sort, but it was about dead, so I figured it was worth a few dollars since I have had great luck with SPS in my tank so far.

This is an ORA Bird of Prey that I got a few days ago

This was $8, so I wanted to see if I could bring it back

This shows that there are still some polyps alive and kickin

This was completely brown at the LFS, and this is the one with the acro crab

Green Millepora a few minutes after being in the tank

After about 4 hours

$8!!!! Yikes. I'd snip off the white branch but what the hey do I know. Looks like you got some real bargains. The Green Millepora looks great. Enjoy.

Thanks! I am relatively new to SPS, I thought it would let the whole coral comeback at some point, am I wrong?

I checked and they do look similar, I think mine might have longer polyps, at the store it had longer polyps, I am going to be getting MP40's in here at some point, just have not pulled the trigger, and I read that Mille's have longer polyps when there is more varied flow. I could be wrong on that though.

Got an ok picture of the acro crab this morning, this little guy is tiny, time for a new lens and a tri-pod to help.

Always frag off any dead branches. Its the healthiest for the coral.

Also that crab looks bad. I would get him out of there.

+1.

The green polyp thing looks like a tricolour acro. I reckon you should get that back.

The other one, I would frag the branch off and reglue.

Get the hairy acro crab out… it might be the cause of the issue with that coral, although with so many bad ones, the LFS may have some water quality issues too.

I would frag those pieces that are receding .....lots of times you can save a piece or two by doing that
