I have a Schuran Calcium Reactor, and whereas I love the efficiency of the unit, I absolutely despise the wing nut that holds the chamber in place on the o-rings. I have moved the unit around to make it as accessible as possible, but it still takes excessively long to get the things on and off, especially the ones in the back corners.

Are there any DIY inventions out there that replace these to where it is more of a pop-on-and-off method instead?

Here is a picture of my Calc Rx where you can see the wing nuts referred to:

If you know the thread size, what you want is a quick release, or quarter turn nut. You slide it down the threaded rod at an angle, and when you get where you are going with it you straighten it out to get the threads to mesh. A quarter turn and you are done.

This one is giant, thus the price.

Doubt it. They are kind of a specialty item but you never know.
I am only finding them in metric, so you might need to replace the screws with metric ones. Heck, just replace the screws with shorter ones and keep the wingnuts.

I would just get shorter screws.. Maybe get yourself a good ratchet with an extension and universal joint and use nuts in leu of wing nuts.
