I'm no algae expert but it does not look like dinos. More like a caulerpa algae. I've had that in my DT before and wasn't too fond of it. IIRC, dinos are a brown stringy algae.

Thanks, tank is a little over 4 months old. Never had caulerpa in the tank. I guess something could have come in some rock I got off someone else, but that was sitting in an unheated covered bucket for probably a month before I added it to the tank.

Caulerpa, I would get rid of all that you have, that stuff will cover everything if left unchecked. I know from experience.
Dinos look like snot.

What's the best way to get rid of it if it's caulerpa?

If it is just on the one rock I would honestly remove that rock and either boil it or scrub it off but if you leave any roots at all in the crevices it will come right back. I have one whole island covered in it and I remove handfuls all the time, bad stuff.

+1. Nuke it before it spreads
