protien skimmer went nuts after blowing garbage into sump drain?!?!

so instead of normally sucking out the garbage with a hose i decided to blow the fish poop into the overflow(lazy...) and my skimmer just starting filling up with water..is it because ur not suppose to do that?

wouldnt the filter socks pick that stuff up?

Do you have a sponge or something after your skimmer section? Could it have clogged and caused the water level to rise in the skimmer section?

odd, my skimmer does that the moment i put a freshly washed sock on the returns, I have even tried soaking it in water first.

Ditto. I always put the skimmer cup canted at an angle partially open before I put the filter socks back in...lol

WOW, i thought it was only me, first i thought it was some sort of detergent residue so i soaked and rinsed the socks but all i got was an elementary school volcano science project.lol
