Hey guys thinking of pulling the trigger on this fish. Been reading the Quoyi parrotfish thread and have been dreaming of one..

First off, this is a princess right? Want to make sure of that...

Second, the price quoted is $60. That fair for the fish?

Price seems high. Wholesale on these guys is usually around 40$ here in Kansas. Seen them as low as 24$

So that being the wholesale price, you think $60 retail is high?

Yes that is a princess, and 60$ is a fair price for the parrot. Make sure the fish is eating before purchasing, also make sure the fish has been PP. the princess will out grow a Quoyi as far a size goes but both are very similar in behavior and dietary needs

That is good but you will want to make sure the parrot gets plenty of nori and other algae based foods, since this makes up their diet... Not meaty foods

What size tank are you putting the parrot in? These fish get huge if properly fed.

35cm max total length as listed on fishbase isn't all that big...

Realistically you can count on 12" maybe 14" if its a monster full grown, 200g minimum is what is recommended

Hey guys, thanks for all the info.

I've been wanting a parrot in the tank, but with my tank only being a 150, I knew I was most likely at if not below the bare minimum tank size...

I got all excited as I haven't seen too many parrots around, and none at this smaller size. Plus I was under the impression this price was dirt cheap (probably not the best reason to buy a fish).

Anyways, leaning towards no on the fish now. Thanks again!

It's not just the length. These are some pretty thick fish.

This is starting to sound pornographic so... :wavehand:
