Help Identify?

Can you help identify this? I just noticed this growing on part of a rock that's been in my tank for 5+ years. Not sure how it got there and why it's concentrated on this one little spot?

Almost looks like a zoa coral.

Looks to me like it could be hydroids in some sort of algal or cyano mat.

Thanks, I just looked up hydroids......I believe you nailed it. I removed that piece of rock (only the size of my thumb. I also found them in one of my zoa colonies. I'll try and dab a little Super Glue Gel on them. Thanks for your assistance!

Glad to help. I've found manual removal of the hydroids is the only solution - generally using a screwdriver to pry under the hydroids in question and remove a chuck of live rock (along with the offending hydroids).
