My anemone is not looking well. I moved around some rocks two days ago in anticipation of some new fish. Since then he's looking a bit rough. He was about mid-tank level when I moved the rocks and he's always preferred to be down at the bottom. Last night he relocated but still didn't look happy. He eventually took 1/3 of a small silver side today. I have a Condy that is looking happy and eating well, corals and fish are fine as well. I have LED reef lighting 14k Innovative Marine on 10hrs/day. He's never been a really green color, just the very tips have a slight green tinge since I got him three months ago. I feed 2x a week, might he need more frequent feeding of more easily digestible food like raw shrimp?

I know my nitrates are high and they have been for months. I've done weekly water changes of 20% and the nitrates stay the same. I'm in the process of removing bioballs and slowly converting crushed coral to sand. I've dumped the fresh lower temp salt water over the anemone as I have heard that this can "refresh" them. I feed the anemones 2x a week. Might he need more frequent feeding of more easily digestible food like raw shrimp?

Your rock looks very, very white.. Do you have a newer setup? How old is the tank? How many inhabitants?

Tank is a 75gal (4' long) with a 13gal sump. It's 17 months old now. I added a couple of pieces of larger base rock last month in that spot. It was cured in saltwater with water changes for three months, but not seeded. I had two clowns, a Melanurus wrasse, freidmani psudeochromis when he was showing signs of being annoyed. I added three small green chromis, juv coral beauty, juv kole tang, juv scopas tang yesterday.

And the clowns don't host the anemone.

He looks great since he found a better spot. He must have just been mad that I moved his rock.

just give it some time so it can get comfortable, you are doing everything you can. and also, like you said already, try to lower the nitrates.
