What supplements do you use? Getting my feet wet again in reefing and currently have a 29g set up with a couple corals.

GSP/Xenia/Toadstool/Mushroom

I've read about calcium, strontium, trace elements and feeding the tank plankton but wanted to see what products everyone else uses.

I use kalkwasser, I don't think that you need anything aside from water changes with what you have right now, if you start adding stonies, that is when I would look into this more seriously

Kalkwasser is good stuff but stay away if you don't know what your doing with it. Two part supplements (calcium and alkalinity) work well B-ionic is one of the better ones. I use a Kent two part now it works ok. As stated water changes should be plenty for now assuming you're using a quality reef salt with a natural buffer.

Forgot to mention I have a couple frags of green birdsnests, I'm using instant ocean salt (not reef specific)... Sounds like I need to read up on dosing, any good reads?

there is really no reason to use anything else besides water changes and dosing cal, alk, and mag. but only dose what you test for.

The birdsnest (pink?) requires high light, which is principally what it eats; calcium supplement beyond what salt mix contains. The others named get by on water changes. I've found that after all the fancy coral foods, grinding up jumbo dried krill satisfies everything in the tank.
