Back story:
I replaced my two Kessil 360w with the new Ocean Revive Arctic s026 and I'm very happy with this new unit. I loved the way the kessils looked and the way it shimmered, however, the biggest issue I had was the spread and the big price tag. Optimally, 4 360w on a 6' tank would have been awesome!! But $2000 is just not what I'm willing to spend. After doing some research, I found the Arctic S026 decided to try it out, and have been very happy, had it for now for almost three weeks and this is my quick review

Ocean Revive Arctic S026

Pro's:
-priced competitively.
-the spread is amazing. (Every corner is lit)
-full spectrum.
-my sps growth is a lot faster compared to my 360w
-sps and lps colors looked better.
-low profile clean look
-great customer service

Con's:
-no dusk/dawn feature(not a deal breaker for me)
-thats all I have so far....I'll update it if I find anything else.

Now some pics: (sorry cell phone pic only)

Thanks for the review, do these lights dim? do they have a built in controller? Approx. cost per unit you gave the Kessil price.

colors look more natural in second pic than most LED shots- interesting!

I have the same lights for a few months now. They have manual 2 channel dimming. No controller. The cost was $199 at http://www.oceanrevivellc.com/index.php . They are great lights for the money. I've noticed a big difference in color and growth after switching from Tao-tronics.

I bought the O.R. S026 for $175 during the promotional price. I believe it's $199 normally. It has two channels, both are dimmable. No controller yet, I heard that O.R. are testing out controllable units. I bought my Kessil 360w for $450+tax, so about $490.00 per unit.

How are these with SPS down near the bottom of a 19" tank?

I have Sps (a few birdsnest, couple green bali and some Caps) at approx. 20" from the light that are doing really well. I read on another forum that tested the par of S026 at appr 18" and got around 300-400. I think Ron Reefman did some par testing also but I can't remember the results. HTH

PAR on these fixtures is close to what the EverGrow D120 or Reef Breeders 'value fixture' produce. But the leds are spread out over nearly 100 sq in of fixture surface rather than bunched into a 50 sq in cluster like the EG or RB fixtures. Given the bigger spread, and a few less leds, you have to expect the PAR to be a bit lower. I have the Arctic S026 over my frag tank and a 55g local tank/QT and run them at 75% blue and 50% white and get very good coral growth from sps in the bottom of my 55g.

BTW, I had EG D120 over these two tanks for 6 months and they were doing fine. I tried one of these because it looks better. Then I found out it runs at room temp, has great heatsinks, comes with adjustable hangers (not the cheap ones) and to my surprise, they don't have the 'glare' or 'flair' that a lot of led fixtures have just under the light. These are MUCH easier to look at, especially in a dark room. So I got 2 more. I've had them for about 4 months and wouldn't consider switching back.

Will one unit cover a 2'x2' sps tank?

My frag tank is 24" x 18" and it covers that just fine.

I used one over a temp frag tank for two weeks. Make sure you clear coat the screws as they started to rust.

Interesting. Mine are all black powder coated and after 4-5 months I have zero rust issues. I wonder if yours was made before or after mine?

Im starting to wonder if its worth changing out my aquatic life 6 bulb? Im assuming for a 90 i would need 2 of these? The cost of bulb change (in already a month past due) would pay for one unit!
Im guessing these are not ran at 100%?
My t5 is using 285 watts when all bulbs are on.
Any guess how much more par i could get?
It just seems my t5's are missing the pop in color im searching for.

Hey, I'm interested in getting one of these lights. What are you guys using for moon lights?

I'm looking into getting one of these. If I do, I will probably try to mod it for dimming. WIth 2 potentiometers it is most likely a 0-10V input for dimming, just using the potentiometers to change it manually. Could be modded fairly easily im guessing.

I just pulled the trigger and ordered the S026. Yes, I mean modding for automatic dimming control, sunrise/sunset function.

The potentiometers are most likely controlling a 0-10V or some other voltage input to the driver. All you *should* have to do is disconnect the potentiometer and wire in your own 0-10V signal between common and the dimmer input terminals on the controller. I would use a 0-10V repeater as well to isolate the input of the dimmer from the PLC I will use to control the dimming.

The potentiometer has 3 leads. one will tie to common, the other to supply voltage, likely +10V generated by the controller itself. The wiper will connect to the dimmer input. As you turn the knob you vary the voltage going into the controller.

Probably very easy to mod, but would void the warranty i'm sure.

I may even consider encoder controlled positioning actuators and just connect them to the knobs directly. Same effect without voiding warranty.

PLCs and industrial controls is kinda my thing. I can make it happen.

Glad I found this thread! I am doing the same thing, replacing my two kessil a350w's. Making a good profit and upgrading to the artics at the same time is a win win. Saw this light at a friends house the other day and was really impressed. The par on the kessils is sub par lol. Looking forward to the switch. Nice mount btw, I am planning on mounting mine to the kessil goosenecks.

Check out the T247 led. Same as SO26 but with one cord, timer, remote control. Coming out end of Feb.

I need lighting for my 250DD. I currently have 3 kessils on my 90, but I've also decided to buy Ocean Revive instead of more kessils.

Here is what I'm thinking: 3 Kessils and 3 S026 to cover my 60x36wide tank.

I have the money to pull the trigger, but I'm unsure if I should buy the S026 or T247.
I have an apex controller, so I don't need the controlability aspect. But I also don't want 9 pluggins (3 from kessils, 6 from S026), that's why I havn't pulled the trigger. The T247 having 1 pluggin outlet is appealing.

Another idea is going 4x S026 vs 3x T247.

So did you plug these into a surge protector? that's 6 outlets to take up on my Apex Bar 8, not sure if it is fine for me to have a surge protector from my Apex Bar 8, feeding All these outlets?

What does everyone use for moon lights with this light?
