starting over...

i have had a reef tank for a couple years that i neglected and let crash. About a month ago i decided to fix it up again. It was never really fancy just some live rock and some Toadstools and star polyps with 4 fish.

I pretty much made all the mistakes you can. The tank is I believe 37 gal it is 36 x 12 x 20h i had 2 39w t5 ho one 10000k and 1 actinic It had 2 HOB filters and a HOB skimmer It also has a couple inches of crushed coral for substrate.

Well I couldnt turn that down so now i have to move everything...wish me luck lol.
Since that pic i have got rid of the HOB filters...made a 10gal DIY refugium...did some major water changes ...bought new 4x 39w t5HO lights 3 blue 1 white and reduced nitrate from about 200 down to 30ppm

i also bought some chaeto for refugium

While in Petco buying salt I was looking at new tanks and the sales lady came up and told me they were on sale for $1 per gal so the $114 40gal breeder was only 40 BUCKS! So now Im starting over lol

Welcome back And you can get the 20 gallon long for 20 bucks also and use it for a sump.
That is my future build, 40 breeder and 20 long for the sump.
