Just curious what you guys think about the Hanna alk test kit. I pulled out a elos alk test kit and it was a full degree lower than the Hanna kit (8.2 Hanna and 7 elos).

Elos and lamotte run 10 per lowe cause they calibrated for fresh water. Also i notice elos reagents start to drift down in results compared to new ones

If the titrant isn't kept sealed well and any little bit evaporates it causes the test to drift low since the titrant is more concentrated.

Being off by 1 dKH probably is about as good a result as we can expect from our test kits. I wouldn't worry all that much.

My Red Sea ikit and my Hanna checker are always extremely close to each other, so I'm not sure what advice to give. I suppose when in doubt, average them :-p. Being .5 off of the average one way or another is a pretty small difference from a husbandry perspective.
