The manager at the LFS that I used to work for sold me a brand new AI Sol for $200. Great price, but there was no power supply in the box. Does anybody know if you can use a third party power supply that doesn't cost as much as the one on AI's parts page? Any help is appreciated.

You can but you need to know volts and amps their PS produces + you will likely need to solder the right plug which you can get from radio shack or the like.

All you need is the right plug and voltage. Then just make sure you have as much or more than the current on the normal power supply.

Thanks to everybody for the info. I contacted AI and they told me to provide them with the serial number. So, it looks like they may send me one because it should have been in the box, but if not the information everybody has provided will help.

Can someone post a link of one of the units that they used for the SOL? I want to get one but if it's more than $50 I'd just get it from AI.
