I believe this is a spiecies of montipora hopefully its of an encrusting variety

I think it's a cyphastrea not a montipora.

Looks like a cyphastrea. If it has longer tenticles that come out of there, then may be a lammelosa (chalice).

sorry got it wrong on the cyphastrea, this is a scroll coral (turbinaria reniformis).
Pagoda cup or Cup Coral (turbinaria Peltata) would have much larger polyps even on a small frag.
They come in two colors, green with white polyps and a nice brown with yellow polyps. The bottom part of it gets a really bright yellow.
