I have several questions.. thought I'd put it in one thread instead of creating multiple. If you can help, that would be great:)

Tank: 9 gal nano AquaStyle. 8 lbs of LR and Live Sand

1. My powerhead will be arriving today.. what's the best placement for it.. up high, low, sides, back? I am getting just one powerhead for now and think about a second later on.

2. And special order to add inverts, coral and fish?

3. can I mix low-light and high-light corals together? (high light being higher up?)

4. Is there a coral compatibility chart somewhere?

5. My tank gets about 20 minutes of sun through my window a day.. think this may be too much?

6. Any magazines you recommend, especially one dedicated to the nano reef?

that's my questions for now.. may come up with more soon. thanks in advance!

1. With a single powerhead i would place it fairly high to get good surface movement.
2. While it can be debated I prefer the easy to care for corals first, inverts second and fish third. The more sensitive corals should not be added until 6 months down the road.
3. Yes you can mix the corals. In a small nano however there isn't that much of a difference. Depending upon your lights you may need to place low light corals under overhangs.
4. Not that I am aware of. Most corals will fight for space using various methods (overgrowth, chemical warfare...)
5. Not if it isn't direct. The heat will be the biggest issue (if there is one at all if the light is direct. With that short of an exposure algae growth should not be a problem.
6. Reef Keeper magazine. Also check out the Reef Central Nano Forum.

I would limit your questions to one or two and make multiple threads; you will get better in depth answers that way.

thanks for the quick response! That's all I needed to know :)

I didn't want to spam up the boards with so many questions, so I figured all rolled in one would be OK

No problem! Only a suggestion. Keep us posted with your progress.

thanks, I will do. When I get home I'll install the powerhead. Baby steps!
