ok i recently converted my tank from 4 400 watt MH to some LED units.. they look nice.. but want to eliminate some shadow spots..i have my vho units. but see the trend went to t5.. so here is the question..

do I stay i with the 4 vho bulbs to supplement or get a retro fit kit and use 4 t5 bulbs. I am using simply to accent the led lighinting to fill in gaps of shadows. not really for growth as the leds are doing a fine job of that.

I have ice cap ballasts that are going to be used..

so in otherwords.. will 4 vho 48 bulbs give off more light .. than 4 t5 bulbs..

tank dimensions are 96 x 31 x 31.

thanks

Nothing beats vho for added pop but I'm not sure if they'll reduce the shodowing effect from your led's.

If you are used to VHO super actinic, then you will not find that look in T5 or LED.

The only thing that comes close is a good MH bulb, but you are out on those too.

I would stay with the VHOs.

jsut caught this from other thread.. is this true..

"VHO's generate a lot of heat and do not put out as much light as t5s."
