Bought a ball of chaeto for my refugium this past weekend.
last night I notice I have "alot" of one inch long feather dusters in there as well.
Do I need to be alarmed?

Are you sure they are feather dusters? They usually attach themselves to a solid substraight.

There not your regular feather dusters they won't get any bigger. There like Astria star fish and all the other tiny version life forms you find. They shouldn't hert anything. I had them at one point not sure what happened to them but there gone now.

They look exactly like a large feather duster with tube and feather, but they are one inch long.
When I shined a light on one, he pulled back into his tube.
I'll post a picture when I get home tonight.
They are in the chaeto, and some have fallen out and are sitting on the glass bottom.

If they are feather dusters there is no need to be alarmed. They are harmless filterfeeders.

just another indicator that there is plenty of food in the water. like algae, tube worms are just an indicator that the system has enough food for them.

I would not move them. I hate it when they grow on a zoa rock- they bother my zoas and don't let them open.
