I am trying to find out if it would be possible to use a type 27 deep cell to back up a mp40w. I have the correct input fitting, can I run that straight to the deep cell and then trickle charge the deep cell? Has anyone done this? I have the battery laying around so I thought I'd put it to good use.

On the Ecotech site it says the MP40s run at 24 volts and on battery backup at 12 volts. So I'm not sure why there would be a problem doing this. I was hoping someone with some more experience could chime in, anyone?
