Unwittingly using an expired magnesium test kit. Magnesium at 1605!

I thought my magnesium was at 1350. Just tested it with a new kit and it came out to 1605! I didn't realize my test kit expired in April.

Magnesium has been elevated for quite a while.. I think I should fine right? Just bring it down slowly with water changes?

Let this serve as a friendly reminder. Check the expiration dates on your test kits!

All along I was thinking there was something wrong with the salt I was using. I almost posted a thread to complain about it lol. I've been dumping so much magnesium supplement in my W/C water ugh. :headwally:

That's no big thing at all I would just stop bumping up your mag for awhile .really the only thing I have seen high mag do is make your snails seem drunk and kill bryopsis.I like to keep mine round 1400ish

Mag should be 3x calcium but that level is ok. Just let it go down naturally or with your normal water changes.
