Wrasse experts please chime in...
After doing so research I think I have in my DT an early stage sub adult male. When I got him he was really tiny and skiddish. Now he is bolder and less scared. I figured I would add a female in the tank to have him flash more.

I went by a LFS this past weekend and picked up a female but after looking at a picture when I was acclimating it I noticed it also had an elongated dorsal fin :(. What are my odds of one becoming a female or should I try to get rid of the fish? It is currently in my QT and will stay there for 21 days or so. I am worried it will continue to change into a male if that is the case.

Thanks in advance

I see two sub-males, yes.

These were both planned for a 180g tank? In that case, you should be safe. Worst case: they both might transition to male, but you should have ample room if that's the case. With the best case being the newer one reverts back to female (possible) and then you'll have a M/F pair. Either way, you'll get the same flashing behavior.

evolved - I was hoping you would see this and chime in. The first fish is already in my DT and has been in there for a while...August or so. He currently gets along with my Line Spot Flasher just fine so hopefully there will be no issues when I introduce the other fish.

Thanks!

I ended up with a second in my tank because Blue zoo sent me the wrong fish and I figured since I already have him... He spent a couple days in the acclimation box and has been fine. They chase each other on occasion but no more that my others do.

aquaph8 - I am hoping I have the same success. I use a acclimation box as well so they will get use to each other and any aggression can subside. I try to keep them in there about a week or so.
