Have you seen these Skimmers by gnome glass? I want one and told my wife this is all I want for Christmas! Th artist make them for 1 to 30 gallon custom. I want it for my 12 jbj. If your running one show pics and review please.

I ordered almost a month ago. The website will take your money, send you an automatic invoice and then there is nothing.

I emailed him directly 2x, thru his paypal email once, started a paypal dispute, and just escalated it to a claim and neither I, nor paypal has gotten any response.

They are very pretty skimmers and decently priced. But you will be parted with 80 dollars until paypal resolves the dispute!

Just an updated, Paypal just closed my case and refunded my money, without so much as a peep from Calen (the guy who owns/runs Gnome glass)

Its sad, because it was beautiful product and I would still give him another chance, but for future purchasers....beware!

What a deush! After I researched his site I saw his # was 1234. So I emailed him and asked if he was legit cause I'm reading bad reviews. They didn't respond. You guys shouald post your reviews for others to read online. What I did was find a local guy to hand make me a make Skimmer out of pyrex , I pick it up Thursday.

Well Xmas came early. And friend who blows glass and I came up with design. Its all one piece and thick Pyrex glass. Now I'm going to design a holder add a airstone and try it out. I'm thinking of useing sweetwater ceramic stone.ill have wood just in case there no good to.

Yeah, I would start your paypal dispute now. They didn't give me any problems, and refunded my money about 2 weeks later.

Darn it! I ordered on 1/16 and haven't gotten a response to 3 separate inquiries. Just now saw this thread. I bought a skimmer about 2 years ago and loved it so figured I'd get another. Calen was very responsive back then. Sigh.

This looks kind of interesting. Seems it would be a fairly easy Diy in plastic. From what I see its basically an open tube with a limewood diffuser and an outlet on top.

It is a simple design. But its not the function that makes it great, its the visual since you wouldn't hide this in a sump. Like a Mame skimmer!
