I'm wanting to up grade from my 120 reef to a bigger tank. I was thing about a 300g or maybe a 225 at the smallest. Was wondering what kind of tanks to look into buying. Any advice would be great thanks.

Where are you located? I'll toss you some examples of those sizes you said you were thinking about... 72x30x24 225 gallon or 72x36x27 300 gallon. 96x24x24 240 gallon 84x30x24... big tanks are awesome.

A 36" tall tank is a pain in the butt to work on and would take a very powerfull light to keep coral at the bottom of the tank. Most reefers prefer length and width over highth. 36" front to back is awesome though. Are you restricted on the length?" Are you willing to go custom at a higher initial cost for a superior tank?

Yes I would be willing. I don't want a really tall tank I like to have them longer and front to back as well

Marineland makes the DD series tanks but they need to be special ordered now. They're 36" front to back and come in 3',4',5', and 6' lengths. 150, 200, 250' and 300 gallons. If I were on the east coast I wouldn't settle for anything less than a reef savvy tank out of Miami florida. Premium tanks but at a cost.
