Birdnest parasite worm?

Hi guys is that thing a worm???

Part of the coral is dead because my other Birdnest grow over it, but when I moved it away I noticed a worm like creature on it. It's probably about 1-2 inches long

Can you circle the worm? I dont see it.

For the most part the lighter area's appear to have polyp extension still so its not dead but has no color from being shaded

Ya that long tube is a vermetilid snail, it casts a web to collect food particles that irritates the sps. Remove the entire tube without leaving anything behind or it could regenerate.

Put some aquascape in the worm. However i do not think the worm is the main problem. The coral looks fairly light to me. Maybe too much light?
